In the original Japanese version, there are two different Darkness-based breath attacks known as ''やみのほのお'' and ''やみのブレス''. The first can be used by various enemies and bosses, including [[Barbarus]], [[Corvus]]'s second form, [[equinox]]es, [[hammer horror]]s, and [[vermil lion]]s and deals between 55~74 darkness damage to the entire party. The second is a hellish halitosis that is exclusive to the [[Dragonlord]] himself. The stronger version's damage range is calculated as ''(100+(lv^2/23)) * 0.9~1.1'', giving the skill a minimum range of 153~187 and a cap of 473~578. In the English version, the user is described as "spew[ing] forth a cloud of malevolent darkness".
