Marquis de Léon first appeared as a S-rank {{MFamilies}} of the [[Beast family]] during the original ''Dragon Quest IV'' event as a boss, eventually appearing on his own banner during the ''Beast Fest'' alongside [[Thwarthog]]. Starting with Version 4.0 of the game, he could be scouted from any banner, including the Regular SP Scout. He accompanies the player as an Auto-Guest in certain event quests and can participate in [[Alphyn]]'s Battle Road as a [[party]] member.
