==Characteristics==
Smackanapes, along with their cousins, are mighty [[Beast family|primates]] that have features of many real-world animals including the bulk and musculature of a gorilla, but with a long tail like a monkey. They have green coats of fur that allows them to blend in with their woodland habitats. They are able to call for help in battle, but they call upon [[elysium bird]]s to heal their wounds rather than calling more of their own kind. The verdant apes would not make a reappearance in the series after their debut until ''[[Dragon Quest of the Stars]]'', where many other classic {{MFamilies}}s return.
