The lair is a simple dungeon, consisting of two floors with a direct route with few branches. [[Metal slime]]s appear fairly regularly and in large groups, giving the party a chance to level up before facing the dragon.

The area surrounding the opening of the cave is now scorched and barren of plant life, owing to the volcanic nature of the dungeon. The sacrificial alter has been embellished with bottles of alcohol, and Orochi's chamber how has ornate columns leading to it along with a carved rock. Orochi surrounds herself with a cloud of purple smoke when defeated and the silhouette of Pimiko is seen as she slithers back into her teleportal. There is also a [[List of recruitable monsters in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake|friendly magmalice]] at home in the volcano.

They reach the heart of the volcano and face Orochi in battle after seeing that she has gobbled up Mindini. Afterwards, Orochi spits the pink sanguini up, sending her even further into [[Manoza]].
