'''King kelps''' are walking masses of [[Aquatic family|seaweed]] that have taken on a humanoid form and perform songs for their fellow monsters. Their bodies appear to be composed of red coral as shown from their limbs, lips, and the tops of their heads, while their kelp gives them the appearance of wearing long, flowing robes. The singers carry crude microphones that have been carved out of driftwood and wear silver crowns on their heads. More often than not, their audience consists of [[Khalamari kid]]s or [[Squid kid]]s, who they are able to call upon in battle. In various spinoff games, they have been members of the [[Material family|Material]] and [[Undead family|Undead families]].
