Hephaestus' flame has a 10% chance of being found in [[List of treasure map treasure chest ranks in Dragon Quest IX|Rank 5]] blue treasure chests and a 15% chance in Rank 6 chests, can be dropped by [[Flamin' drayman]]s, [[Rockbomb]]s, and [[Magmalice]]s, or received as a reward for repeating [[Template:DQIXQuest/168|Quest #168]]: Potty About Pots. It can also be made in the [[Krak Pot]] by combining a [[Lava lump]], a clump of [[Royal soil]], and a jar of [[Toad oil]]. It can be sold for 265 gold.
