It can be equipped by the {{Hero 3}}, [[Warrior]]s, [[Martial Artist]]s, [[Priest]]s, [[Thief|Thieves]], [[Merchant]]s, [[Gadabout]]s, and [[Sage]]s. When equipped by a Martial Artist, it actually decreases their attack by 12. It can be purchased at [[Reeve]], [[Romaria]], and [[Asham]] for 320 gold (550 in the NES Version) and sold for 240 gold.

One can be found in the [[Gallows Moor]]. It can be dropped by [[Pesky jester]]s and [[Boarker]]s.

The chain sickle appears as a cosmetic item that players can purchase for real world currency starting from September 23rd, 2016. It will change the appearance of any [[Whip (weapon type)|whip]] equipped by the character and changes its attack animation to throwing the sickle.

Chain Sickle appears as a skill that can be learned by [[Torneko]] at Abacus proficiency level 5, costing 8 MP to use. When used, he swings the sickle in a circular motion around his body three times before putting it away.
* Chain Sickle can be upgraded further into '''Super Chain Sickle''' at proficiency level 9. It can be performed by charging Chain Sickle for a short time, costing 13 MP to use. At proficiency level 12, it will upgrade even further into '''Über Chain Sickle''', which costs 19 MP to use. Each upgrade increases the amount of damage and the range of the attack.
