The canny cap is not in Dragon Quest X directly. However, the 賢者のぼうし ''kenja no bōshi'' hat has the same exact design that the canny cap has in Dragon Quest IX. This hat is part of the [[sage]]'s vocational outfit, and as such can only be equipped by sages over level 30. It is obtained by doing the Sage's vocational quest chain, it is specifically obtained upon compleating Quest 185.
