==Characteristics==
Bombs are anthropomorphic red-orange fireballs with a tiny pair of arms that float in battle. They often have yellow or red eyes and display a jagged, toothy grin. Their design has not changed much over the years, but in some games such as ''[[Wikipedia:Final Fantasy XII|Final Fantasy XII]]'', the bombs have a fuse-like appendage on the tops of their heads, befitting their name. They typically attack by biting, ramming their bodies, and casting fire magic, and will sacrifice themselves with Self-Destruct after they have taken enough damage to inflict heavy non-elemental damage to a single character. In some games, bombs will expand or grow larger each time they are hit, usually exploding after they have grown larger enough times.

From their original appearance, there have also been several variants of bombs, including the [[Grenade]], which are often colored grey or blue and is sometimes differentiated by being an ice-elemental {{MFamilies}} instead. Other variants include the Balloon and the Purobolos. There is also a much stronger variant, known as the King Bomb or Bomb King, which has appeared as a boss in various games. It typically forgoes the usage of Self-Destruct in favor of other powerful attacks and abilities.
