In the ''Dragon Quest III'' remakes, happy camper is a personality obtainable by male or female characters, including the hero, or temporarily granted while equipping the [[bunny tail|rabbit's foot]] accessory. Happy camper reduces strength and resilience growth, and improves luck growth.

At the start of the game, the hero becomes a happy camper by receiving the final test of character in the castle, then leaving the castle without talking to the chancellor.

Party members of any class can be a happy camper when recruited, depending on their stats.
