The Orochi is a many headed monster found in DQ3 and a servant of Baramos. In contrast to her bestial appearance, she is a cruely cunning snake capable of manipulating people to further its own ends.

Characteristics
The design of Orochi is the one of an enormous dragon that is covered in green scales and has five heads instead of one. At the top of each head there are grey, purplish colored crests that stem from the front of the head to the base of the neck. In each limb there are four fingers that end up in white, sharp claws. It has red eyes with no pupils.

Appearences
DQ3
The Orochi masquerades as Pimiko–the queen of Jipang, and uses the disguise to create a despicable ruse: Pimiko has reached a compromise with "Orochi", agreeing that if the monster is given sacrifices of young girls at regular intervals then she will not attack the village directly.

When the Hero 3 defeated the Orochi in her lair, she dropped the Orochi sword from her tail and retreats through a portal to Pimiko's Palace in Jipang. Stepping through the portal, the player sees Pimiko severely wounded and being tended to by a panicking handmaiden. When it became clear that the Orochi was pretending to be Pimiko, the monster telepathically spoke to the Hero and struck a bargain: keep quiet about her secret and allow her to continue gorging herself on maidens, and she will spare the lives of the party.

Orochi is hemorrhaging considerably after the first battle and is in no position to threaten anyone: Hero and company battle the beast once more, slaying her and freeing the people of Jipang.
Orochi appears as the boss of the 100 Pals Room Gate, its speech and surroundings an allusion to its appearance in Dragon Quest III. Once Terry defeats it in battle, it will go on a rampage due to its being upset about losing. Its massive build and weight causes the bit of land Terry is standing on to start to give way, putting him in danger. Just in time, a mysterious cloaked swordsman (who is actually Terry's future self) arrives on the scene and finishes Orochi off, saving Terry's life. This entire scene will only occur if Terry defeats Orochi before clearing the Gate of Reflection.
Orochi returns as a boss battle in the Jipang scenario.

DQTact
Orochi appears as an A-rank monster of the Dragon family and can be unlocked through collecting Orochi Marks from the Cave of Trials. She can learn Tail Hammer, Rolling Attack, and Scorch naturally. Her Leader Skill raises the Frizz breath potency of herself and her allies by 10%.
She reprises her role in the Dragon Quest III event, mistaking Mindini for a sacrifice and is fought by
Majellan and the monsters. After her defeat, she spits Mindini farther into Manoza. She is also fought in Armful's Battle Road in Chapters 6 and 7, the former of which she attacks Armful for using a female Walking corpse as a human maiden and the latter for workout training after getting chubby from eating maidens. She helps Armful get back into Baramos (And indirectly) Zoma's army after she is defeated the first time.

Trivia
*Orochi's sex is confirmed in Dragon Quest III as female by NPC dialogue.
*If the Hero does not chase Orochi through the portal upon her initial defeat (instead leaving the cave), she will be standing in the same spot later, forcing the palyer to battle her again. She does not drop the Orochi sword more than once, though.
*The dreadful beast and the events surrounding Jipang and the arrival of the Hero are based on the Japanese legend of the Yamata no Orochi. Yamato no Orochi is an eight-headed and eight-tailed dragon who demands human sacrifices, and who is slain by the thunder god Susanō no Mikoto. The Orochi sword is likewise a reference to the Kusanagi, a sword found within the body of Orochi.

The Prince of Cannock is a character in the DQSeries that appears as a playable party member in DQ2. He is one of three descendents of Erdrick who journeys to defeat Hargon after his attack on Moonbrooke, and is the second playable character added to the party. He also has a sister who is the Princess of Cannock.

The Prince of Cannock's abilities are a mix between both of his cousins, the Prince of Midenhall and the Princess of Moonbrooke. Though he is physically strong, he is weaker than the Prince of Midenhall, and while he can use magic, most of his spells are not as powerful as those available to the Princess of Moonbrooke. In terms of statistics and spell choices, the Prince of Cannock has more in common with the other Heroes of the series.

Upon learning of the tragedy that befell Moonbrooke, the Prince of Cannock set out on a journey, first travelling to the Wellspring of the Hero. Later, he met the Prince of Midenhall at the inn in Leftwyne, where the two cousins joined forces and began travelling together.

Appearance and personality
Of the three titular luminaries of the legendary line, the Prince of Cannock falls in the middle in terms of height. In the Japanese box art and all other versions of the game, the prince has shaggy orange hair and wears a green tabard with Erdrick's crest on the chest and an orange cape attached over form-fitting black clothes. He also wears green gloves and boots, as well as a pair of goggles on his head. In the American box art for the NES version of the game, he is still wearing the odd goggles on his head, but his tunic has been replaced with a full suit of green armor. The Prince is also seen carrying a green shield with a red jewel in the middle and wields a nondescript rapier.

In the Japanese version, the Prince is described as a slacker, a drinker, and an overall really fun guy; however, in the NES American version the Prince of Cannock is described as a studious young man immersed in his studies. This is presumably due to the heavy censorship Nintendo of America enforced during the late 80s and early 90s. Later versions are loyal to the Japanese script and refer to the Prince in the same way.

Appearances
DQ2
The Prince of Cannock sets out to aid his cousin, the Prince of Midenhall, when word of the sacking of Moonbrooke castle reaches him. Unfortunately, the Prince does not stay in one place for long and leads the player on a wild goose chase until meeting up with him at the inn of Leftwyne.

Later in the game in all versions besides the NES original, the prince becomes ill after staying at the inn in Beran. The other heroes can travel to a small island with a single tree tile upon it and retrieve a Yggdrasil Leaf in order to cure him and continue adventuring, or may leave him behind. Doing such only slightly affects the ending of the game, where the prince's dialogue bemoans how awful his luck is.
True to form, the Prince of Cannock is always one step ahead of the party, and the group must visit the Roamer Encampment, the Imperial Pantry of Parthenia, and Whealbrook before being told the young man is wandering in the Neverglade forest.
