The Thorn whip is a whip in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
A simple whip that consists of a long, thorn-covered vine with a braided leather handle. In the original Japanese, the thorn whip is actually two different weapons, Thorn whip (とげのむち, Toge no muchi?) and Thorny shrub/thorn whip (いばらのムチ, Ibara no muchi?), but they are treated as the same weapon in modern English releases.
- The design from Dragon Quest VII features a segmented lash made of bramble thorns and a metal handle with a blue grip.
- The thorn whip introduced in Dragon Quest VIII has a metal arrowhead-like tip attached at the end of the lash similar to other redesigned whips in this game.
