The Steel helmet is a recurring helmet in the Dragon Quest series introduced in Dragon Quest IX. It is the upgraded form of the iron helmet, made with the help of item crafting.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit | edit source]

The steel helmet grants +41 defence to whoever wears it. It can be equipped by the Hero, Aishe, and Sir Mervyn. It can be purchased for 6000 gold coins and sold for 3000. It can be obtained as a prize in Lucky Panel in the present. Armor shops sell this helmet in Buccanham Palace -in both the past and the present-, in Nottagen -in both the past and the present-, in the Sea Dragon (sailing vessel), and in the Divine Shrine.

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]

The Steel helmet has a Defence bonus of +14, a Style bonus of +6, increases the wearer's Weight by 11, and has an equipment level of 14. It can be equipped by Warriors, Thieves, Paladins, Demon Swordsmen, Pirates, and Armamentalists if they have allocated enough points into their Fource skill. In the Offline version of the game, it can be equipped by Raguas, Hussar, and Duston.

The entire set consists of the helmet, the full plate armour, steel kneecaps, steel gauntlets, and steel sabatons. If all five pieces are equipped, the wearer gains a +20 bonus to Style and a +5 bonus to Weight.
