The Spiked steel whip has an Attack bonus of +40 and can be equipped by the Hero, Gadabouts, Thieves, and Sages. It can be purchased from Portoga, Theddon, and Lanson for 3,100 gold and sold for 2,325 gold. The whip only appears in remake versions of the game.

The Spiked steel whip has an Attack bonus of +65 and can be equipped by Bianca, Nera, Debora, the Hero's daughter, Prestidigitator, Ghost, Hulagan, Old man of the sea, Epipany, Wiz pip, Conkuisitor, Conkjurer, Powie yowie, Cross eye, Flamethrower, Minidemon, Hellion, and Beastmaster. It can be purchased at Lofty Peak for 7,400 gold and sold for 3,700 gold. One can be found in a treasure chest on the Nadiria Treasures 'n' Trapdoors board.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]

The Spiked steel whip has an Attack bonus of +65, a Style bonus of +22, and can only be equipped by Ashlynn. It can be purchased for 7,400 gold in both Clearvale of the Upper and Lower Worlds, Arkbolt, and Mt. Snowhere and sold for 5,500 gold.

The Spiked steel whip has an Attack bonus of +65, a Style bonus of +22, and can be equipped by Maribel and Aishe. It can be purchased for 9,500 gold at Hubble in the present and Buccanham in the past.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit | edit source]

The Spiked steel whip has an Attack bonus of +68 and can be equipped by Maribel and Aishe. It can be purchased for 7,500 gold from Buccanham and sold for 3,750 gold. It can also be received as a prize from the Lucky Panel at Pilgrim's Rest.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit | edit source]

The Spiked steel whip has an Attack bonus of +62 and can be equipped by Jessica, as well as Red in the Nintendo 3DS version. It can be purchased from Orkutsk for 8,300 gold and sold for 4,300 gold. One can be found in a treasure chest at Red's Den behind a door that can only be opened with the ultimate key. The whip has a 1128 chance of being dropped by Snapdragons.

The Spiked steel whip has an Attack bonus of +23, a Style bonus of +5, and increases the wielder's Weight by 5. It has an equipment level of 28 and can be equipped by a Mage, Thief, Luminary, Monster Master, and Fortune Teller. The whip can be crafted by a weapon blacksmith.

Dragon Quest X Offline[edit | edit source]

The Spiked steel whip has an Attack bonus of +23, a Charm bonus of +5, and can be equipped by the Hero as a Mage, Thief, or Luminary, and Duston. It can be purchased for 2,200 gold or crafted with the Fun-Size Forge using the same recipe as the Online version.

The Spiked steel whip is a 3★ whip with an Attack bonus of +27 at level 1 that allows the wielder to use Starstrike. At max level, it increases damage against Material family monsters and gains an extra +5 bonus to Attack.
