The Silver cuirass is armour in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The silver cuirass is a lightweight, flexible piece of armour for the torso that can be equipped by characters of all shapes and sizes thanks to its adjustment straps. A cuirass is a simple torso guard made of one or two pieces of metal. In Dragon Quest X and some mobile games, the silver cuirass is worn over a long-sleeved black shirt and is held on the wearer's shoulders with leather straps.

The Silver cuirass has a Defence bonus of +40 and can be equipped by the Daughter, Sancho, Jailcat, Saber, Brownie, Orc king, Hoodlum, Archdemon, Gigantes, Battle pip, Conkerer, Small fry, Drag-goof, Great dragon, Rebjørn, Dracky, Fat rat, Fandangow, Ticking timeburrm, Funghoul, Grudgerigar, Pocus poppet, Chimaera, Snowbird, Powie yowie, Cross eye, Flamethrower, Minidemon, Hellion, Beastmaster, Killing machine, Barbatos, Dwight, and Starkers. It can be purchased for 5,000 gold in Gotha and Lofty Peak and sold for 2,500 gold.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]
The Silver cuirass has a Defence bonus of +36, a Style bonus of +30, and can be equipped by the Hero, Carver, Milly, Ashlynn, Amos, Terry, Lizzie, and Goowain. It can be purchased for 3,200 gold in Clearvale, Arkbolt, Castle Swanstone, and Turnscote, and sold for 2,400 gold. It has a 1⁄128 chance of being dropped by Infernal panes.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The Silver cuirass has a Defence bonus of +36, a Style bonus of +30, and can be equipped by Hero and Aishe. It can be purchased for 6,000 gold from El Ciclo in the present, Greenthumb Gardens when revisiting, and Rucker in the past and sold for 3,000 gold. One can also be found in the Likeness of the Great Evil, as well as a treasure chest near El Ciclo in the past in the Nintendo 3DS version. It has a 1⁄128 chance of being dropped by Mastermines and Healium balloons.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit | edit source]
The Silver cuirass has a Defence bonus of +44 and can only be equipped by Yangus, as well as Morrie in the Nintendo 3DS version. It can be purchased from the Holy Isle of Neos for 3,200 gold and sold for 1,600 gold. It can also be made in the Alchemy Pot as early as Pickham if the player manages to get their hands on some silver platters from the Casino.

The Silver cuirass has a Defence bonus of +16, a Style bonus of +4, and increases the wearer's Weight by 13. It has an equipment level of 21 and can be equipped by Warriors, Priests, Thieves, Minstrels, Paladins, Rangers, Item Masters, Dancers, Demon Swordsmen, Pirates, Guardians, and Hermits.
The entire set consists of the silver cuirass, silver tassets, a headband, gauntlets, and boots, and can be made by an armour blacksmith. If all five pieces are equipped, the wearer gains an extra +15 bonus to Style.

The Silver cuirass has a Defence bonus of +19, a Deftness bonus of +5, and a Charm bonus of +10. It can be equipped by the Hero as a Warrior, Priest, Thief, Minstrel, Paladin, Armamentalist, Ranger, or Dancer, as well as Hussar, Mjoll, Raguas, Duston, and Anlucia. The silver cuirass can be purchased from various armour shops for 1,280 gold or made with the Fun-Size Forge.

The recipe book Secret of the Silversmiths contains the recipe for the silver cuirass. It can be found in a treasure chest behind a locked door that can be opened with the Magic key.
Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds[edit | edit source]
The Silver cuirass is 3★ armour that can be equipped by the Luminary Leader as a Hero, Warrior, or Martial Artist, as well as all versions of Dai, Avan, Hyunckel, Crocodine, Baran, Larhart, and Nova. At level 35, it has a Physical Defence bonus of +74, a Magical Defence bonus of +65, and increases Slash Resistance by 2. It comes equipped with Armour (Top) Trait I Lv. 3, which has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Slash Resistance temporarily when an attack hits. The silver cuirass could occasionally be acquired from Treasure Hunts.
