The angel's robe is a recurring robe in the Dragon Quest franchise. It is a high-level robe said to have been worn by an angel and it protects the wearer against instant death spells in all appearances and occasionally reduces magical damage. Certain games establish the angel's robe as the foundation of an upgrade chain, improving it into the archangel's robe, aeon's robe, and seraph's robe.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit | edit source]

The angel's robe has a defence bonus of +35 and cuts the effectiveness of death spells in half, meaning the base chance drops from 18.7% to 9.35% before a character's Luck applies. It can be equipped by Mages, Priests, and Sages. It can be purchased from the Super Secret Faerie Village, the final stage of the Immigrant Town, and Tantegel for 3,000 gold. Angel's robes can also be found randomly in the third Treasures n' Trapdoors track near the Shrine Jail by searching ground tiles.

The angel's robe has a defence and style bonus of +55. It can be equipped by Maribel, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. Angel's robes can be purchased in Aeolus Vale for 11,000 gold and sold for 5,500 gold.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit | edit source]

The Angel's robe has a Defence bonus of +73 and can be equipped by Jessica and Angelo, along with Morrie and Red the Nintendo 3DS version. It can be made in the Alchemy Pot and can be mixed to create a Princess's robe. The robe can be sold for 25,000 gold for the first five sold, 17,500 gold for the sixth through tenth, then only 7,500 gold each from the eleventh onward.
